Maupay is closing in on leaving the Amex, closing the curtains on a three-year stint, with Goodison Park set to be his destination.

The Frenchman had several suitors in the Premier League, including Nottingham Forest and Fulham, but the Toffees have won the race for his services.

Everton are looking to register him before the 12 noon deadline in a bid to make his available for selection against Brentford at the weekend, and are likely to do so.

The striker has not played for Brighton this season as they have been keen on cashing in on him, and are looking to recoup as much of the £14m they paid Brentford to sign him in 2019.

And according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Everton have agreed a deal worth £16m with the Seagulls for Maupay, which includes £12m as a base fee and another £4m in bonus payments.

Maupay will put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at Goodison Park that will see him continue his Premier League career.

Despite Maupay adding to his options up front, Frank Lampard is tipped to be looking for even more attacking additions with Everton having the likes of Southampton’s Che Adams, Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz and Watford’s Joao Pedro on their radar.
