Spurs have been on the lookout for a new club for Winks all summer as he is not part of boss Antonio Conte’s plans at the club.
The midfielder was hoping for attractive offers from the Premier League, but none came and he ultimately gave the green light to a move abroad having drawn admiring glances from Italian outlift Sampdoria.
Winks has been on the radar of the Serie A side from early July and they managed to reach an agreement with Tottenham over a loan deal for him.
The north London giants also agreed to pay a significant portion of Winks’ wages to facilitate his move to the Genoa side.
And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Winks has now completed his move to Sampdoria, having put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal.
The Spurs star’s temporary exit is expected to be made official through an announcement soon.
Winks is tipped to start training with his new side on Tuesday as he embarks on his first season of professional football outside England.
