Following sparse game-time with West Ham, Masuaku went on loan to Besiktas in the summer in the hope of featuring regularly.

The Congolese left-back started in the first 12 league games for the Turkish club and provided two assists in the meantime.

It is claimed however that his performances have not been to the liking of Besiktas and they may look to cut short his contract.

Now, Besiktas have found an alternative to the West Ham left-back in the form of Sparta Prague star Casper Hojer Nielsen, according to Turkish daily Takvim.

Besiktas may start negotiations for the termination of Masuaku’s contract should coach Senol Gunes give the go-ahead and then pursue Hojer.

The Turkish giants have the option to buy Masuaku at the end of the season but they seem to be of a mind to instead cut short his contract prematurely.

Masuaku did not play in Besiktas’ last two matches before the World Cup due to an ankle fracture and it is not known when he will return.
