Gil’s future at Spurs has been under the scanner since last summer when he was expected to be loaned out.
The Spaniard has put in some fine performances this season and there were suggestions that he could stay on beyond the end of the window.
But with Tottenham signing Arnaut Danjuma, his future at the club again came under focus and he is now expected to join Sevilla.
According to Spanish sports daily Marca, if everything goes according to plan, he is expected to fly out to Spain today ahead of a loan move.
Sevilla and Tottenham have been in talks over the Spaniard’s loan move and a deal is more or less agreed upon between the two clubs.
They are finalising the final details of the deal, including what percentage of the winger’s salary Tottenham will bear during the loan stint.
A final agreement is on the cards and Gil is expected to arrive in Seville sometime later today.
It will be a straightforward loan deal and Sevilla will not have an option to buy in the proposed agreement.
