Tillman has looked lively under new manager Michael Beale and has scored seven times and laid on seven assists in all competitions for Rangers this season.

Wilson admitted that the attacker looked a bit confused under Giovanni van Bronckhorst because the previous Gers boss was playing him in multiple positions.

But he stressed that it was clear that Rangers had signed a talented young player in the summer and Beale has managed to provide more focus and discipline to him by using Tillman in one specific role.

Wilson insisted that Rangers making the move permanent should be a no-brainer given his quality and obvious potential going forward.

The former Scotland star said on Clyde 1: “I am convinced [Rangers should buy him]. You get a feel for a player.

“When he came into Rangers, one so young, he looked great at the start, he looked a find but every young player goes through dips in form and he is no different.

“He was at Rangers at a difficult time where Van Bronckhorst was using him in several different positions that didn’t really suit him.

“All of a sudden, Beale comes in, works with him, gave him a lot of discipline playing in that middle area and breaking out and that suits his game.

“It’s a no-brainer if it’s there if it’s easy to do then most Rangers fans would say, get it done.”

Even if Rangers take up the option to make the move permanent, Bayern Munich will still have a buy-back option as part of the agreement.
