Onana has emerged as a target for Manchester United as the club look to bring in a new number 1 this summer.

With David de Gea’s future still uncertain, the Red Devils are pushing to sign a new goalkeeper and the Inter shot-stopper has emerged as one of the top targets.

His agent met the Manchester United officials on Thursday and is still in England to hold further talks.

But according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, the discussions over taking Onana to Old Trafford are still at an early stage.

His agent is trying to ascertain the conditions at which Manchester United are willing to do a deal to sign the Cameroonian.

He will return to Italy soon to discuss the potential transfer with Inter Milan, who want €55m from his sale.

Manchester United are expected to meet that price but only through a gradual process as the club have a limited budget amidst a takeover process.

However, Ten Hag is leading Manchester United’s pursuit of Onana and wants to reunite with his former Ajax goalkeeper at Old Trafford.
