Darren Moore’s sudden departure from Wednesday after getting them promoted to the Championship came as a shock for many observers.

 

The Owls are now on the lookout for a new manager as they prepare to resume life in the second tier of English football next season.

 

 

Iachini’s name emerged as an option over the weekend as the Italian is believed to be interested in working in England.

 

And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Wednesday are in contact with the experienced Italian coach.

 

 

The newly promoted Championship club received the feelers from the Italian’s camp and are now in conversations with him.

 

Sampdoria are also interested in the 59-year-old, though look set to go for Andrea Pirlo, and Iachini wants to try out his hand at managing in England.

 

 

It remains to be seen whether Sheffield Wednesday and Iachini can agree on a deal for him to arrive at Hillsborough this summer.
