The Dutch central defender has caught the eye of Spurs in this window with his impressive displays for the German outfit.

He appeared 36 times for Wolfsburg in the recently-concluded season, starting all of them, and making three-goal contributions from his defensive role.

Both north London clubs are looking to strengthen their defensive department and they have identified potential candidates and made progress with them as well.

However, there is no clash of interest between the north London rivals as Arsenal are not targeting Spurs chased Van de Ven.

It has been suggested that the Gunners are focused on securing Ajax’s versatile defender Jurrien Timber, for whom a bid has been made.

Tottenham are also set to submit a verbal proposal to Die Wolfe for Van de Ven and the player is also keen to make the switch.

It remains to be seen if and when Spurs will make an official offer for the exciting 22-year-old Dutchman in the ongoing transfer window.
