Scamacca had a difficult first season in England and wants to return to Italy in the ongoing transfer window.

His preference is for a move to Roma and the Serie A giants have held talks with the Hammers over trying to sign him on loan.

West Ham were clear about not wanting to loan him out and would prefer selling him if the forward is to leave the club this summer.

But according to Italian daily Il Tempo(via LaRoma24.it), that firm stance the Hammers took has softened over the last few weeks.

Scamacca remains keen to move on and is expected to tell West Ham about his desire when he reports for pre-season training today.

And it has been claimed that the east London club are now gradually opening up to the idea of a loan deal.

It would still have to be an expensive loan offer if any club are to sign Scamacca from West Ham this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Roma look to reopen talks with West Ham in the coming days in their pursuit of the Italy striker.
