Willian signed for the Cottagers last summer on a one-year deal and made a considerable impact on Marco Silva’s side finishing in the top half of the Premier League table.

It seemed towards the end of last month that Willian’s time at Fulham could be over as there were disagreements over a new deal.

Fulham have offered him an improved deal but Nottingham Forest are also interested in signing him on a free transfer and it had been claimed he was undergoing a Tricky Trees medical.

That talk seems wide of the mark and, according to Brazilian outlet UOL, Fulham are confident of signing up the winger on a new deal.

Talks have been ongoing between the two clubs and Fulham are rapidly making progress in negotiations.

Fulham are now confident that Willian will sign a new one-year contract and stay on at Craven Cottage.

The Brazilian is happy in London and that has played a part in helping Fulham to give them the edge in the race to re-sign him.
