Manchester United are set to turn their attention towards trying to sign Hojlund from Atalanta after tying up the deal for Andre Onana.
Erik ten Hag wants a new number 9 and the Dane has emerged as the club’s top target at this stage of the transfer window.
Manchester United have already agreed personal terms on contract with the forward ahead of the potential summer switch.
And according to Italian sports broadcaster Sportitalia, Hojlund stands to see a massive increase in his wages if he joins the Old Trafford outfit this summer.
He joined Atalanta last year and is currently on a contract worth €600,000 per year in Bergamo.
The contractual agreement he has with Manchester United would see him earn seven to eight times his current salary.
The striker does not want to force his way out of Atalanta but has prioritised joining Manchester United this summer.
The Serie A outfit want somewhere €70m before agreeing to sell the 20-year-old forward in the ongoing window.
