Former Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard brought in Coutinho from Barcelona in January 2022 on loan and later made his move permanent.

However, since the arrival of Unai Emery, Coutinho has fallen down the pecking order and made his last league appearance in February.

Coutinho has suitors in Turkey in the form of Besiktas, despite it being suggested that the player is not keen on joining the Turkish outfit.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has three more years left on his contract and Aston Villa are willing to part ways with Coutinho this summer.

According to Turkish daily Fanatik, Besiktas have contacted Coutinho and the player has let the Turkish outfit know that he wants a contract that guarantees €4.5m a year.

Al Ettifaq are also keen on Coutinho and he could bag a lucrative contract if he moves to Saudi Arabia.

Now it remains to be seen whether Besiktas are willing to match Coutinho’s wage expectations to facilitate his Villa Park exit this summer.
