Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in midfield reinforcements in the ongoing transfer window apart from the club’s interest in Harry Kane.

They considered signing Declan Rice earlier in the transfer window before backing out of the race to sign a player who joined Arsenal.

The German champions have been linked with an interest in Alvarez who is a big target for West Ham this summer.

But according to German magazine Sport Bild, Bayern Munich have not contacted Ajax for the Mexican.

Alvarez was expected to join Borussia Dortmund earlier in the window but that move collapsed as the two clubs disagreed on a fee.

West Ham have been expected to table an offer for the midfielder but for the moment, there is nothing imminent.

Bayern Munich have not ruled him out as a potential target but they are yet to establish any contact with Ajax.

Alvarez wants to leave Ajax before the end of the window but for the moment his departure is not imminent.
