Scamacca has been linked with a move back to Italy after just one season in the Premier League with West Ham.

He is keen to return to Serie A and for a number of weeks, Roma were his preferred choice of club despite interest from other sides.

But Roma dragged their feet for too long and it allowed Inter to barge into the race with suggestions that they are now the favourites to sign him.

According to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, the Serie A giants have already thrashed out personal terms on a contract with the striker.

Scamacca has given his seal of approval to a five-year contract worth €3.2m per season with a view to joining Inter.

The Nerazzurri are now in advanced negotiations to sign the striker from West Ham on a permanent deal.

Roma got in contact with his agents on Wednesday to enquire about the status of the negotiations with Inter.

However, the Giallorossi do not have the funds to try and sign Scamacca on a permanent deal this summer.
