David Moyes has already been battling to bring in a replacement for Declan Rice who joined Arsenal for a British record fee earlier in the transfer window.

The Hammers are closing in on a deal to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton but Moyes wants to bring in at least one more midfielder to offset Rice’s loss.

However, West Ham are now facing the prospect of losing another top midfielder this summer due to interest in Paqueta from Manchester City.

And it has been claimed that the club are facing an uphill battle to convince the Brazilian to stay at the London Stadium.

The Brazilian made a slow start after joining West Ham last summer but grew in importance over the course of last season.

He played a big role in keeping West Ham in the Premier League and helping them win the Europa Conference League.

However, Manchester City have their eyes on him as Pep Guardiola seeks to bring in more reinforcements for his treble-winning squad.

The Hammers are likely to find it hard to keep Paqueta if Manchester City make a serious offer for him in the next three weeks of the window.
