The Magpies are in the Champions League this season and they are determined to strengthen their team in the transfer window.

Eddie Howe has seen the arrival of players like Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tony Livramento in the ongoing window.

And the Newcastle boss still wants to add a centre-back and a left-back in his squad, with the latter being his priority.

Newcastle have been linked with several left-back targets, with Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney, Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Lewis Hall at the top of the list.

However, the Magpies are nowhere close to landing their desired left-back target as they battle financial fair play restrictions.

Newcastle now have to find a way to be creative to fund the move for a new left-back in the ongoing transfer window.

Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen and Benfica’s Antonio Silva are high on Howe’s centre-back wish list, but it is unlikely that Newcastle will be able to sign either of them this summer.
