The Greek defender is on the verge of joining the Hammers this summer after the two clubs reached an agreement over a fee for him.

The deal was on the cusp of collapsing after West Ham found a problem following the centre-back’s medical.

They resumed negotiations with Stuttgart and eventually, everything has been agreed upon.

But according to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Hammers will be paying less than they initially agreed with Stuttgart.

West Ham worked out a deal worth €20m and another €5m in add-ons with the German club for Mavropanos’ transfer.

However, after finding a slight problem in his medical the Hammers agreed on a different deal with Stuttgart.

It has been claimed that West Ham will be paying well below the €20m they initially agreed to fork out for the defender.

Mavropanos has experience of playing in England where he was previously at Arsenal before having spells in Germany.
