Lo Celso has not made it onto the pitch for Spurs in the first two league games of the season despite impressing boss Ange Postecoglou during pre-season.

The midfielder is prepared to leave the club before the end of the window next Friday and his former club Real Betis are pushing to sign him.

However, Napoli have also maintained their interest in the Argentinian in the final week of the transfer window and are in touch with Tottenham.

According to Italian outlet Arena Napoli, the Serie A champions are prepared to table a loan offer worth €4m to sign him.

Napoli are also keen to include an option to buy worth €14m in any loan agreement for Lo Celso.

The midfielder is on a contract worth €4.3m per year at Spurs though and Napoli want Tottenham to pay half of that during the loan stint.

Whether Spurs would be willing to pay 50 per cent of Lo Celso’s salary during the loan stint is unclear.

The Serie A giants are in touch with the north London club, who are pushing for a definitive sale of the player.

Napoli are hopeful that Tottenham will be more flexible as the transfer deadline draws closer in the coming days.
