The Whites have been open to loaning out the young midfielder before the transfer window closes and it had appeared he could join League One side Fleetwood Town.

Now however the situation has changed and Leeds have received an offer of £5m from Valenciennes.

Gyabi’s move to Fleetwood is now on hold while Leeds decide whether they want to accept the proposal from Valenciennes.

The midfielder joined Leeds from Manchester City for a fee of £5m and the sum would hand Leeds their money back.

Gyabi is rated highly at Elland Road though and cashing in on him may be something the club do not want to do.

Valenciennes made a bid of £4m for Gyabi on Thursday which was turned down.

The improved proposal though is focusing minds at Leeds as they decide whether to cash in and sell to the Ligue 2 club.
