Rangers are on the lookout for a new manager after taking the decision to sack inexperienced boss Michael Beale.

The Glasgow giants are already seven points behind Celtic in the title race and the former QPR boss lost his job after weeks of fan discontent against him.

Rangers are looking to carry out a thorough process to identify their new manager and Lampard is one of the names in the running.

He failed at Everton previously and had a terrible time as interim manager at Chelsea last season.

The former midfielder is keen on the job but Dalziel insisted that his PR team are doing a good job to position him for the Rangers post.

However, the former Rangers star does not rate Lampard as a manager and is not keen to see him at Ibrox.

Dalziel said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “I would like Frank Lampard’s PR company to represent me, I’d be top of the world.

“As a player? Magnificent.

“But as a coach/manager? I am not too sure.

“I don’t rate him at all.”

Former Rangers defender Kevin Muscat is also one of the names in the fray for the vacancy at Ibrox.
