Beale agreed to loan the 20-year-old midfielder to Hearts for the season in August and he completed a move to Tynecastle in the summer transfer window.

Lowry has clocked game time at Hearts and will be looking to make sure when he returns to Rangers he has much more experience under his belt.

Clement is expecting to see Lowry improve for the loan spell and backed Beale’s decision to send the player to Hearts as the correct one.

“I didn’t see him against us of course because it is also logical that these things are the way they are”, Clement said at a press conference.

“A young player with a lot of good offensive qualities.

“I think it was the right decision, if you see the squad, to let him go on loan, also to learn a different part of football.

“That’s the part without the ball and I think he is taking steps in that and I think he is a really good environment there, with a good manager also, to help him in that way to become a stronger player in the future.”

The spell at Hearts is Lowry’s first away from Rangers, where he progressed through the youth set-up.

It remains to be seen if Clement plans to keep hold of Lowry next season or send him out on another temporary stint.
