With Rangers breathing down their neck in the title race, Celtic are looking to spend money in January to improve their squad.

Brendan Rodgers wants more forward options as he believes his team will need more goals if they are to keep Rangers at bay on the domestic front.

Wlodarczyk has been on Celtic’s radar for a while but the club are yet to make a concrete move for him.

But it has been claimed that the striker is now beyond Celtic’s financial capabilities ahead of the transfer window.

They recently made an enquiry into potentially signing him but, in unpalatable news, were told that his price has skyrocketed to £15m.

The Pole has scored nine goals in all competitions this season and Sturm Graz do not want to sell him for a cut-price fee anymore.

Celtic may be unlikely to spend such sums on any one player during the January transfer window.

And that means that Wlodarczyk looks unlikely to be playing his football in Scotland in the new year.
