The 26-year-old midfielder joined Rangers this summer on a free transfer from Norwich City but has featured in a very limited number of games for the Ibrox outfit so far.

On Wednesday, Dowell made his second league start for Rangers against St. Johnstone and helped them secure a 2-0 win.

Miller is of the view that Dowell is a player with endless talent and believes that his performance against St. Johnstone shows that he has vision and good passing abilities.

He stressed that the Rangers midfielder can break opposition lines with his quality passing but pointed out that Dowell is lacking in the physical aspects of the game.

“I have watched Kieran Dowell for a number of years now and when he came through as a young player, endless talent there”, Miller said on BBC Radio Scotland.

‘I think you have seen that tonight, his vision and his passing.

“He has that ability; he can break the lines with his passing.

“I think in regards to his physicality, you look at Dujon Sterling, comes in and how he moves around; maybe just something goes against Kieran Dowell, but there is no doubt he was one of the better performers tonight.”

Rangers are set to take on Motherwell at the weekend and Dowell will be hoping to get into the Gers starting line-up for that game.
