Former Aberdeen star Joe Harper has insisted that strong interest in striker Bojan Miovski, who has been linked with Celtic, in January would not surprise him.

The 24-year-old, who has been at Pittodrie for 18 months, has given the club hope during an otherwise disappointing season so far.

He has already made 17 goal contributions in 27 appearances for the Dons and his threatening presence in front of goal has been fruitful for Barry Robson’s side in Europe.

The hitman’s performances have seen him watched by Celtic and the Scottish champions are claimed to be keen to see him at Parkhead.

And Harper has been left impressed with what he has seen from the 24-year-old and believes that it will not be a surprise if clubs come flocking in for Miovski in the January transfer window.

“I would not be surprised if clubs make a move to sign Miovski in the January transfer window”, Harper wrote in his column for Press & Journal.

“He is such an important player Aberdeen will have to set a very high value to any club that is interested in signing him.

“This is the second successive season since signing for Aberdeen in summer 2022 that Miovski has been a prolific scorer.

“The North Macedonian international also proved this term that his scoring prowess is not only restricted to Scotland.

“He also scored four goals in Europe.

“If Aberdeen let Miovski leave on the cheap the club’s supporters will be upset.

“Hopefully Miovski is still at Pittodrie after the winter window because his goals will be key to the Scottish Cup campaign and the bid to finish third.”

It remains to be seen if Celtic do lodge a bid for Miovski in the coming days.

Following back-to-back wins over Hearts and Livingston, Aberdeen have managed to a halt to the freefall and currently find themselves eighth, eight points off a European spot.
