Tottenham Hotspur are now locked in talks with Genoa and are moving closer towards reaching an agreement for Radu Dragusin.

The defender has emerged as the main man that Tottenham want to land to boost their centre-back options for the second half of the season; Spurs have tracked him since November 2022.

Dragusin is in no hurry to leave Genoa, but his agent has admitted that if an offer from a top Premier League club arrived it would have to be looked at.

Tottenham are the team now pushing for Dragusin and they have opened talks with Genoa, which had been widely expected.

The talks are continuing, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, though there is a distance between what Spurs are prepared to pay, €25m, and Genoa’s demands, €30m.

Spurs are now bidding to get closer to Genoa’s demands and it is suggested that the parties are growing nearer during the talks.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is keen for business to be done early in the January transfer window and landing Dragusin would be a boost.

Genoa are not keen on losing the defender in mid-season, but the money on offer from Tottenham could be too good to turn down for the Italian side.
