Sporting Lisbon have probed about the possibility of signing Watford attacking midfielder Yaser Asprilla, it has been claimed in Portugal.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been turning heads with his performances with Watford in the Championship this season.

He has already emerged on the watchlists of Premier League scouts who have been keeping tabs on him.

The attacking midfielder has also been attracting the attention of some big-name European clubs as well.

According to Portuguese outlet Maisfutebol, Sporting Lisbon touched base with Watford last week to seek information on Asprilla.

The Portuguese giants put in an enquiry to probe the possibility of signing the midfielder in the near future.

Watford are claimed to be prepared to sell the player for somewhere around €10m to €12m going forward.

The Colombian, who has a contract until 2026 with Watford, has scored four times in 24 Championship appearances this season.

It remains to be seen whether Sporting Lisbon’s initial enquiry leads to a concrete offer for Asprilla in the ongoing window.
