Coventry City are facing stiff competition from a European outfit in their bid to sign an unnamed target, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Robins have been in superb form of late and taken over the last nine games sit a lofty third in the Championship form table.

Coventry have lost only once out of their last 12 league games and have managed to climb up to sixth place.

In the ongoing transfer window, Mark Robins is eyeing strengthening his squad to keep them in the promotion mix.

The Coventry boss has already identified the positions he wants to add and a centre-back and left-sided wide man are on his agenda.

It has been suggested that Coventry have an unnamed ambitious target on their mind and are working on a deal.

Now it has been claimed that an European outfit are providing competition to Coventry for their target.

The European outfit have yet to agree on a transfer fee for the Robins target and it remains to be seen whether Coventry will be able seal a deal to bring the player to England this month.
