Kalvin Phillips’ agents are in talks with Manchester City over the size of the loan fee the Cityzens are demanding for the Crystal Palace and Newcastle United target, according to the Guardian.
The midfielder is keen to secure a move away from Manchester City this month as he looks to play regular first team football.
Phillips is well aware that Euro 2024 is now firmly on the horizon and wants to push hard to be included in the England squad.
Crystal Palace, Newcastle and West Ham all hold an interest in loaning Phillips, but the fee Manchester City have been demanding has all but ruled out a deal being done.
Phillips’ suitors could now have fresh hope though.
The midfielder’s agents are speaking to Manchester City about the size of loan fee.
If they can bring down the amount demanded by the Cityzens then a move could be back on the table for Phillips.
It is claimed that Manchester City currently want £6m to agree to let Phillips move away from the Etihad on loan.
None of his suitors are prepared to pay that and if Manchester City do want to smooth an exit they will have to reduce their demands.
