Sheffield Wednesday loan star Devis Vasquez is one step away from leaving the Hillsborough outfit to join Ascoli.

In the summer, AC Millan agreed to send the 25-year-old on a season-long loan to Sheffield Wednesday.

However, despite starting the season as the first choice for the Owls, he was dropped in favour of Cameron Dawson by Danny Rohl.

Rohl is determined to bring in new reinforcements and he wants to send Vasquez back to free up a loan spot.

Sheffield Wednesday are in discussions with the Italian giants to terminate the goalkeeper’s loan spell at Hillsborough.

And it is suggested that the Rossoneri are also working on a deal to send him on loan.

Now, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Vasquez is just one step away from Ascoli and will be terminating his loan spell with the Owls.

Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with several players in the ongoing window and they are desperate to bring in new faces to reshuffle the squad.
