Millwall director of football Alex Aldridge believes that Tottenham Hotspur loan star Japhet Tanganga is hungry and motivated, while he brings excellent attributes to the Den.

The Championship side managed to rope in the 24-year-old defender from Tottenham on a deal running until the end of the season on Thursday.

The move is the Tottenham academy graduate’s second spell away from his parent club after spending the first half of the season in Germany with Augsburg.

During his time in Germany, Tanganga did not get the chance to kick a ball even once, missing the first few games with injury and then being unable to make it to the team.

He was recalled earlier this month and has now been roped by the Lions.

Aldridge is excited and feels Millwall have a hungry player who has some very good attributes.

“We are really pleased to bring Japhet in”, Aldridge told his club’s official website.

“Going into January we felt that centre-back was an area of the squad we would look to strengthen if the right option became available to us and Japhet expressed a strong desire to come to Millwall.

“Japhet is hungry and motivated to play games, he has some excellent attributes as a defender and has played at a very high level with Tottenham Hotspur, so we feel he is a really positive addition and we look forward to working with him.”

Tanganga will be looking to put a poor spell at Augsburg behind him in the coming weeks and make his presence felt at Millwall.
