Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier would be open to speaking to Bayern Munich if the Magpies accept a bid for him, according to the Daily Mail.

The experienced right-back has emerged as a target for Bayern Munich during this month’s transfer window.

Trippier is a player Newcastle are clear they would like to keep hold of, but they are under pressure to balance the books if they want to make signings.

And in a boost for Bayern Munich’s deal hopes, Trippier is open to holding talks with the German giants.

If an agreement is found between the two clubs, Trippier will sit down and look at moving to Bayern Munich.

A switch would see him reunited with former Tottenham Hotspur team-mates Harry Kane and Eric Dier.

Newcastle are sticking to their not for sale stance, but could change it if enough cash is put on the table by the Germans.

Trippier joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in the January 2022 transfer window and quickly became a key man in a team that avoided the drop and then kicked on the following season to qualify for the Champions League.
