VfB Stuttgart have held initial talks with Borussia Monchengladbach in their pursuit of Aston Villa and West Ham target Florian Neuhaus in the current transfer window.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been unhappy with the limited amount of playing time he has received at Gladbach this season.

He has been open to move away from the German club in January and several Premier League sides are interested in him.

Nottingham Forest have enquired about him and Neuhaus has also been on the radar of Aston Villa and West Ham this month.

According to German magazine Sport Bild (via Fussball Transfers), Stuttgart have also got involved in the race to sign the midfielder ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

It has been claimed that they have made contact with their fellow Bundesliga club to discuss a deal for Neuhaus.

Initial talks have taken place between the two clubs for a potential move for the midfielder in the coming days.

Stuttgart are working on a deal to sign him on an initial loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen whether his Premier League suitors make a concrete offer for the 26-year-old in the coming days.
