Leeds United are in the mix to sign Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest, but are not prepared to meet the defender’s asking price, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Whites boss Daniel Farke has made clear his desire for defensive reinforcements after letting Luke Ayling and Djed Spence move on.

The club have yet to deliver for the German though and the clock is now firmly ticking down on the transfer window.

Leeds are showing interest in Nottingham Forest’s Worrall, but the asking price is an issue.

The Premier League club want to sell Worrall and are looking for a fee of £6m to let him go.

Leeds are not prepared to pay £6m for Worrall, but they could be prepared to loan him near the end of the transfer window if they cannot find an alternative.

Forest could be forced to listen to loan offers if no one comes up with cash for Worrall.

The experienced defender has promotion winning know-how in the Championship and Leeds boss Farke may find that useful.
