Rangers target Hugo Cuypers has rejected any thoughts of moving to the MLS, despite interest from the American top flight.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement wants to sign more players in the ongoing transfer window and he has a centre forward on his agenda.

The Gers have been strongly linked with KAA Gent star Cuypers as an ideal fit for Clement’s squad, but any move may have to wait until the summer as other areas take priority.

Cuypers joined the Belgian outfit in the summer of 2022 and he has scored 51 goals in 90 outings for Gent.

The 26-year-old is also attracting interest from the MLS and Gent have also received an offer from an unnamed club to take Cuypers to the USA.

According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Gent are willing to negotiate a deal for the Rangers target, but Cuypers is not in favour of a move to MLS.

Cuypers has insisted that he does not want to move to the MLS at this stage of his career.

That will be a boost for Rangers, who could find the Gent man still available when they decide to make a play for his signature.
