Sunderland have managed to agree a permanent transfer with Standard Liege for Romaine Mundle, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Black Cats have set their priority in the ongoing window to strengthening their forward department.
Sunderland have been linked with several forward players this month and Mundle is one of them.
Mundle is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur academy system and joined Standard Liege last summer on a free transfer.
The winger has failed to establish himself in the starting line-up of the Belgian outfit and has featured only six times in the league.
Michael Beale’s side opened negotiations with Standard Liege to take Mundle back to England this month.
And it has been claimed that Sunderland have agreed to a deal with the Belgian outfit to sign him permanently.
Now all eyes will be on Mundle to see whether the winger will be able to solve Sunderland’s forward problems.
