Tottenham Hotspur technical director Johan Lange is driving the hunt for Djurgarden star Lucas Bergvall, according to Sky Sports News.

The 17-year-old midfielder featured 25 times for Djurgarden in the league last season and helped them finish fourth in the league.

Bergvall is attracting interest from several European outfits in the winter transfer window and Tottenham are one of his suitors.

The London outfit are keen on strengthening their academy and Bergvall’s performances last season have managed to impress them.

Spanish giants Barcelona are also interested in securing the player and they are keen on landing him.

The Swedish outfit have placed a £8.5m price tag on the 17-year-old midfielder’s head.

It has been claimed that Tottenham’s technical director, Lange, who joined them in November, is driving the race for Bergvall’s signature.

The youngster has already made his debut for Sweden’s national team and Spurs have to beat stiff competition to land Bergvall in the ongoing window.
