Alex Pritchard is set to reunite with Tony Mowbray at Birmingham City after Blues agreed a fee with Sunderland, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Pritchard is in the final six months of his contract at Sunderland and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Black Cats.

Clubs in Europe and the United States have also been interested in signing the midfielder but he is set to stay in the Championship.

Mowbray has always been keen to work with Pritchard again and has been pushing Birmingham to sign him.

Blues have reached an agreement over a nominal fee with Sunderland for the signature of Pritchard.

Personal terms have also been agreed between Birmingham and the player’s representatives for the move.

The midfielder will sign a contract with the Championship side after he passes a medical with the club.

Pritchard was happy to stay at Sunderland but Birmingham offered more money on the deal than the Black Cats.
