Burnley are eyeing a deadline day swoop for Borussia Dortmund star Thomas Meunier, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Clarets are struggling in the bottom half of the league table and have managed only three wins in the league so far.

Vincent Kompany is desperate to bring in reinforcements to strengthen his Burnley squad to escape the relegation threat.

The Burnley boss is eyeing defensive improvements and signing a right-back is on his agenda for transfer deadline day.

Borussia Dortmund’s Meunier is on Kompany’s wish list and Burnley are eyeing a move for the Belgian right-back.

The 32-year-old defender joined Dortmund in the summer of 2020 on a free transfer from PSG.

Meunier missed the early part of the season due to a muscle injury and after recovery, he has started Dortmund’s last six league games.

His contract with Dortmund is set to expire in June and now Burnley are in a race against time to make a deal happen for the Belgian.
