Birmingham City are expected not to return with a fresh bid for Queens Park Rangers star Ilias Chair, according to journalist Darren Witcoop.

The Blues are looking to turn their season around under new boss Tony Mowbray and are in the market for reinforcements.

Mowbray wants to add a midfielder to his squad to provide creativity in Birmingham City’s midfield.

They identified QPR’s attacking midfielder Chair as an ideal fit and submitted a bid for him last week.

However, the London outfit rebuffed Birmingham City’s initial offer to take the player to St. Andrew’s.

Now it has been claimed that Mowbray’s side will not return with another bid for the midfielder today.

Chair, who has featured in 27 league games for QPR this season, is considered a key part of Marti Cifuentes’ side.

Leicester City are also long-term admirers of Chair’s talents, but the midfielder is expected to stay with QPR this season.
