A number of unnamed clubs have been in contact with Crystal Palace to take their goalkeeper Joe Whitworth on loan, according to the South London Press.

The 19-year-old became the club’s youngest-ever goalkeeper to make his Premier League debut when he was asked to keep goal in the match against Brighton & Hove Albion in March last year.

He has added yet another appearance to his name but is not a key part of Roy Hodgson’s side at present.

However, his experience in the top flight has not gone unnoticed and clubs have been monitoring him.

In fact, a number of clubs have even been in touch with Crystal Palace to discuss the possibility of taking Whitworth on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

However, with the transfer deadline looming, the interested clubs face a race against time to get the move over the line.

A move away would be Whitworth’s first loan away from his club having joined them as a youngster in 2016.

Whitworth has a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
