Blackburn Rovers are ready to move quickly to bring in a new manager for the weekend clash with Stoke City if Jon Dahl Tomasson goes, according to Sky Sports News.

Tomasson is holding talks, along with his assistant, to leave his job at Ewood Park after growing disillusioned with life at the club.

Blackburn have tumbled down the Championship standings and Tomasson has been left unhappy at a lack of backing in the transfer market.

Talks for Tomasson and his assistant to depart Ewood Park are continuing, but the club are prepared for the eventuality he does go.

It is claimed that if an agreement is reached today, then Blackburn will move quickly to bring in a new manager.

The club would like to have a manager in place for Saturday’s Championship clash with Stoke City.

A number of names are being discussed as options at Blackburn.

Stoke City sit below Blackburn in the Championship standings, but a win at Ewood Park would see them leapfrog their hosts.
