Aidy White has lavished praise on the Leeds United defence and pointed out that they never look under pressure or hurried during most games.

With injuries in the backline meaning Ethan Ampadu has been forced to play at the heart of their defence over the last few weeks, he was again immense in Leeds’ 3-0 win over Rotherham at the weekend.

The Leeds defence kept another clean sheet and only league leaders Leicester have conceded fewer goals than the Whites in the Championship this season.

White stressed that Leeds’ defence has looked strong and settled this season and often look comfortable in most games.

He pointed out that there are not too many last-ditch tackles and the whole back four look unhurried while they are carrying out their defensive duties to keep their team safe at the back.

The former White said on BBC Radio Leeds: “It’s so strong and it’s very settled.

“We don’t ever really look like we are scrambling or in trouble.

“It’s nice to see; there are not many last-ditch tackles.

“We are always one step ahead of it and we clear our lines well.”

Leeds have an away trip to Swansea on Tuesday night before another game on the road against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
