Chelsea have already been in talks with Everton for the signature of midfield target Amadou Onana in the summer, it has been claimed in Belgium.

Onana is expected to move on from Everton at the end of the season with several clubs interested in snapping him up.

Barcelona have been tracking him for several months but are not willing to spend beyond a certain figure due to their current financial limitations.

Arsenal and Newcastle United explored the possibility of signing the Belgian in January and are again expected to be in the race for him in the summer.

Chelsea also have their eyes on the midfielder and according to Belgian outlet Voetbalkrant, talks have already begun between the Blues and Everton.

The west London club are trying to anticipate competition for the Belgian’s signature and are already in conversations with the Toffees.

Their first offer for Onana is said to be well below Everton’s asking price but that is only being seen as an opening salvo.

Chelsea are expecting to hold more talks as they look to try and get their hands on Onana in the summer transfer window.
