Bayern Munich have already touched base with Liverpool managerial target Xabi Alonso’s camp, it has been claimed in Germany.
Alonso has been the top choice for Liverpool, who are claimed to want the Spaniard to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield at the end of the season.
His Leverkusen side are unbeaten this season and are now the favourites to end Bayern Munich’s dominance and win the Bundesliga this term.
However, Liverpool do not have a clear run at their former midfielder anymore as Bayern Munich also want the Spaniard.
The German champions have announced that Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season and according to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, they have already contacted Alonso’s camp.
The Leverkusen coach is their top target and the club are working behind the scenes to take him to Bavaria.
However, Alonso wants to focus on Leverkusen’s season where they can end up winning multiple trophies.
There are suggestions that he is already planning for next season at Leverkusen but Bayern Munich and Liverpool are pushing hard to get him.
It has been claimed that the German champions have a good chance of beating Liverpool to Alonso’s signature.
