Former Ankaragucu and Bursaspor assistant Ozhan Pulat has identified why he does not believe Tottenham Hotspur loan star Tanguy Ndombele can be useful for Galatasaray.
In the summer of 2019, Tottenham spent big money to bring Ndombele to north London from Lyon; however, the midfielder failed to justify his price tag.
The Spurs star joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan in the summer and, so far, has started only four league games for the Turkish giants.
Pulat revealed that during his time with Bursaspor, they came close to signing the Tottenham star and he added that the Frenchman was also interested in joining.
Ndombele is now playing in Turkey, but with Galatasaray, after Tottenham shipped him out on loan.
However, the midfielder has struggled to live up to expectations and Pulat explained why he does not feel Ndombele can be the answer for Galatasaray.
“We found a player named Tanguy Ndombele during the Bursaspor period”, Pulat said via Turkish daily Sabah.
“He was playing for Amiens in France, Ligue 2.
“We went to the player’s dressing room and he was very interested in coming to our club.
“For €2.5m we were able to complete his transfer to Bursaspor.
“We had reached an agreement with his agent on everything, but the coach at the time did not agree.
“Then Ndombele did very well at Lyon and Tottenham.
“Ndombele is a quality player.
“The reason he could not be useful for Galatasaray is that he reached his mental and financial limit.”
The Tottenham loanee has featured 19 times in all competitions for Galatasaray this season and has registered only one assist so far.
