Legh Bromby has insisted that Leeds United’s rise to the top of the Championship table is down to the relentlessness they have shown since January.

Willy Gnonto and Daniel James scored in each half to help Leeds post a comfortable 2-0 win over Millwall at Elland Road on Sunday.

The three points took Leeds to the top of the Championship standings albeit playing a game more than Leicester City who are sitting second are on the same number of points as the Whites.

The gap between Leicester and Leeds was more or less a chasm at one point earlier in the season, but the Foxes have not been as good in the latter half of the campaign.

Bromby also pointed out that Leeds have been nothing short of relentless since the turn of the year and it is their consistency that has got them to the top of the league table.

He also stressed that going into the international break with a win is also a massive boost for the team.

The former White said on BBC Radio Leeds: “Leeds have been relentless.

“Probably since January, the form has just increased and increased even with the other ones winning around them.

“I’d like to see the points of teams who got promoted previously because it’s huge.

“Leeds are just keeping going and going.

“Fair play to them as they have put themselves in a great position and finishing on a high before the international break is a real positive.”

Leeds will return after the international break with a trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Friday, 29th March.
