Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq is a potential destination for Rangers skipper James Tavernier this summer, according to talkSPORT.

Tavernier became the highest-scoring British defender when he netted his 131st career goal against Hibernian last weekend.

The Rangers captain has remained a massive part of the team and is hoping to lift his second Scottish Premiership title at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old still has two years left on his contract but his future at Rangers could come under the scanner in the summer bas it is claimed he could move to Saudi Arabia.

Gerrard is interested in taking his former Rangers skipper to Al-Ettifaq in the summer transfer window and the Saudi side are a potential destination.

The former Rangers boss has remained a fan of the player and is keen to reunite with him in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ettifaq are likely to offer him more money than he could ever earn at Rangers and they are hoping to tempt him into agreeing to a transfer.

Rangers will demand a considerable transfer fee given his importance to Philippe Clement’s team.
