Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is ‘reflecting very carefully’ about his future amid an ‘important offer’ from Premier League side Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old is a key man for Napoli, but has been unable to stop the Italian champions from having a horrific defence of their title.

Napoli currently sit in eighth spot and are a whopping 34 points behind league leaders Inter, while Champions League football also looks a struggle, being ten points off fourth.

Now Napoli could be set to lose Di Lorenzo in the summer as, according to Italian daily Il Mattino (via CalcioNapoli 24) he is ‘reflecting very carefully on his future’.

It is claimed that the defender has ‘an important offer’ from the Premier League in the shape of Aston Villa.

Moving to Villa Park could be financially lucrative for Di Lorenzo and also give him the chance to play in the Premier League, along with potentially the Champions League.

Di Lorenzo has never played his football outside Italy and could be tempted.

The defender is due to turn 31 years old before next season’s Premier League campaign kicks off; he has been capped by Italy on 34 occasions.
