Brighton have reached an agreement over a fee with IFK Goteborg for Southampton target Malick Yalcouye, who has been dubbed better than Tottenham Hotspur new boy Lucas Bergvall, according to the Daily Express.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been tipped for big things and has been regularly watched by several clubs in the Premier League.

Southampton have been interested in signing him and has been tipped to be ‘clearly better’ than Bergvall, who rejected Barcelona to join Tottenham this summer.

Brighton recently tabled a bid to sign the midfielder and has been leading the race to sign him this summer.

It has been claimed that an agreement is now in place between Brighton and Goteborg for his move to the Premier League/

Brighton have agreed to pay a fee of £7.6m plus add-ons to the Swedish side for the signature of the teenage midfielder.

The Seagulls have already agreed personal terms on a contract with the player and his representatives.

With Bergvall already at Tottenham, another young talent in Yalcouye is set to follow him to the Premier League this summer.

And the words of Goteborg sporting director Ola Larsson will be put to the test.

Larsson feels that Yalcouye is better than the Spurs new boy and said earlier this year: “After all, Bergvall has played more matches in the league but I think Malick is clearly better than him.”
