Sheffield Wednesday are still waiting to find out if they can land their key attacking target for the summer transfer window, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The Owls recently pulled off a deal to land former Manchester United talent Charlie McNeill, who boosts Danny Rohl’s attacking options.
Rohl has not finished bolstering his attacking third though and remains keen on Ike Ugbo, who spent the second half of last season at the club.
The 25-year-old has returned to French side Troyes and Sheffield Wednesday are still waiting to see if they can sign him.
No decision has yet been made over whether Ugbo can return to Hillsborough.
Troyes are determined that they will not lose the services of the striker on a cut-price deal.
The French side will not be pushed into letting Ugbo go on a deal which they feel undervalues him.
Ugbo had a good spell at Hillsborough under Rohl and the German manager is keen to bring him back, with the striker still a priority target.
